One day, I got an email from a small company in Mountain View and they wanted to see me to talk more about YesLLama LLC. I took any chance to make connections, so I went to see them. I was sitting in this tiny meeting room in a back office when they rambled about their products. During the discussion, I don’t see the compatibility of their products and ours — not the mention the big culture different between two teams. Finally, they told me they wanted to merge our team into their team to work on a few other non related products — and they they already have a manager to manage our team. Normally, I would have thought over an offer to see if it was actually good for our team, but not after their leader told me:

“I admire smart people like you guys, having smarter ideas than I do. But I hate to see people who have a lot of money like us to come in and destroy your product just because they can and they will. You guys have 3 days to think about that offer.”

I told him a day later that that was not even an offer and we don’t want to “partner” with them. Experiences like these will only encourage us to push forward. We went ahead and launch the second version of the LLama app in May 2016. A third version of the app was released later that year based on multiple user feedback. A website and forum call Hungry Time for everyone to checkout and use. Not to mention, hundreds of Taste Testings :)
